FOR WOMEN WHO LOVE A CHRONICALLY ILL DOG

You are the one who notices when they blink differently.

Who notices you?

IF YOU'RE HERE, YOU KNOW THIS

The things no one else sees

You wake up at 2 a.m. to check if they're still breathing.

You can read three of her micro-expressions their vet can't.

You cancel plans, but you've stopped explaining why.

Friends say you're overreacting. Your gut says otherwise. Your gut is right.

If any of this is yours, keep reading. This was built for you.

"They tell you to take care of yourself. They don't tell you that your
nervous system is the medicine.

THIS IS REAL

Your dog's body knows you

For ten years, the science has been quietly proving what you've always sensed. The bond between you and your dog is not just emotional — it's physiological. Your heart rates synchronize. Your stress hormones rise and fall together. Their recovery is shaped by your presence.

I.

Cortisol
synchrony

Long-term stress hormone levels in dogs and their owners track each other across years. Your calm becomes theirs — and so does your strain.

— Sundman et al., Scientific Reports (2019)

II.

Polyvagal co-regulation

Your tone of voice, breath, and posture directly shape their autonomic state. With chronic illness, this matters most: your regulated presence is their first analgesic.

— Stephen Porges, Polyvagal Theory

III.

Social
buffering

The presence of a securely-bonded human dampens stress response in animals. For chronically ill dogs, this isn't comfort.

It's part of the healing.

— Hostinar, Sullivan & Gunnar (2014)

A PRACTICE, NOT A PROGRAM

Desmo
from the Greek δεσμός
meaning bond

The Desmo Method is the first integrated practice built on these findings — designed not for the sick dog, but for the woman who loves them. Five pillars. Built to be sustainable for the long road.

Co-regulation

How to be the medicine they feel first. The polyvagal foundation: how your autonomic state shapes theirs — especially during pain, vet visits, and flare-ups.

Attachment

The secure base that buffers chronic illness. Repair protocols for after the bad days. The bond as physiological medicine, grounded in attachment research.

Interoception

Reading their micro-signals before symptoms arrive. Bidirectional body literacy — yours and theirs — so you stay 24-48 hours ahead of flare-ups.

Ritual & meaning

Holding the slow loss without being held by it. Naming what changes. Anchoring what remains. The practices that no vet will give you — and that you most need.

Window of tolerance

Keeping yourself wide open when they need it most. Nervous system hygiene for the long-term caregiver. Permissions, protocols, and the math of sustainability.

LIFETIME ACCESS

Everything you need, gently delivered

— THE ULTIMATE TRANSFORMATION

From depleted to something steadier — for both of you

A guided process you move through with them — built on co-regulation and attachment science, paced for the days you're already living. The spine of the method.

— PERSONALIZED WEEKLY PROMPTS

Short, deep, never preachy

Knowing isn't enough — the practice is the work. One Sunday prompt at a time, built to fold in, not pile up.

— STATE TRACKING SYSTEM

Less to hold in your head

Their state and yours, side by side. Patterns surface within weeks — and so does your interoception.

— PROTOCOL LIBRARY

For the moments you can't think

Before a vet visit. After a flare-up. The night you can't sleep. The day you can't bear it. The words, the questions, the steps for each.

— THE DESMO CIRCLE

A quiet community of women who get it

Paid-only, fully moderated. No advice on their medication. No judgment. The conversations no one else has space for.

— LIFETIME UPDATES

Every quarter, forever

New protocols. New rituals. New conversations with vets, behaviorists, and grief specialists. Your access doesn't expire — and the method keeps growing.

ONE PRACTICE. ONE PRICE. FOREVER.

Everything inside.
One simple price.

You are already giving everything to your dog. Nothing inside is taken from them — everything is added, to their life as much as yours.

HONESTY

Who this is — and isn't — for

This is for you if

Your dog has a chronic condition — any condition.

You're the primary emotional caregiver in their life.

You've felt the ache of "no one really gets it."

You want a sustainable practice, not crisis management.

Five minutes a day is something you can actually give.

This is not for you if

You're looking for veterinary advice. We are not vets and never will replace yours.

You want a quick fix. Chronic illness is long. So is the practice.

You don't want to look at your own nervous system.

You want answers about their medication or diagnosis.

You're not the primary bond in their life.

WHERE THIS BEGAN

Wilson.

Wilson was a fox terrier who lived with more diagnoses than most dogs carry in a lifetime — fused paw pads, neurological defects, episcleritis, autoimmune disease, rheumatism, epilepsy, a splenic tumor, and enamel defects that made everything harder. He bit everyone except the one person who stayed. Me.

For nine years, I built my entire life around him. Not as a sacrifice — as love. The kind that becomes a second skin.

"At some point, I realized I had almost no contact with Wilson anymore. Just his symptoms. Five, maybe ten minutes a day of actual connection — and the rest was management. I was crying every day. The world had closed in completely."

The decision to let him go — with the help of a vet, when the house of cards finally fell — was not a failure. It was the last act of care. But before that moment came years of navigating something no one had a name for, no framework for, no community for.

That's why the Desmo Method exists. Not as a product. As an answer to a question that shouldn't have been so hard to find.

I'm not a vet. I'm not your dog's trainer. My work is with your nervous system — because that's where the ease begins.
